Create the Greatest Super Bowl Party of All-Time

Americans consume 1.5 billion chicken wings and drink over 300 million gallons of beer during the Super Bowl. Should we call it a national holiday?

Game day is almost here! Super Bowl LVII is a good reason to party – whether it’s for the Puppy Bowl, Rihanna or the game itself. The key to putting together a great party begins with setting up the room just right. Read our how-to blog for helpful tips.

One key to a memorable party is adding fun touches that are unexpected like Super Bowl-themed scented candles!

Then, what really matters is delicious food and drink, and lots of it. We, as a nation, indulge as much on Super Bowl Sunday perhaps even as much as we do on Thanksgiving! For your feast, you’ll need the number one game food: Chicken wings! Whether you want traditional wings, less messy boneless wings, or plant-based wings – today’s options are huge.

Nearby New Hudson has a fantastic new option for wings with Michigan-based Wing Snob and what counts here are personalized boxes of wings with more than a dozen dipping sauces to choose from – from mango to Chicken & Waffles. There are both chicken and loaded fries to be found there in multiple size options, so you can order big batches. Don’t forget desserts that everyone loves – including cheesecake.

A fun new trend that is ideal for Super Bowl entertaining is the Nacho Table. It’s very easy and can be customized to the types of nacho ingredients that you or your guests would prefer. Cover your dining room table or kitchen island with tin foil, and use the entire space as a giant nacho plate. Consider gourmet cheeses and meats from County Acres in South Lyon. Great nacho topping ideas: Steak bits, avocado, queso, sharp cheddar, jalapeños, black beans, fresh green pepper, and roasted sweet potatoes. Maybe have one half of the table vegetarian!

For no fuss ideas, pizza is a tradition that’s hard to break. South Lyon has fabulous, local pizza parlors. Aubree’s Pizzeria & Grill and Pro Pizza have classic and creative menus, sure to be a touchdown!

As for drinks, Bud LIght is the official beer of the NFL. However, adding flavored craft beers to your offerings will please hops fans. There’s many great choices from local South Lyon brewers. When it comes to cocktails, since the game is in Arizona this year, try the classic Tequila Sunrise – the drink is said to have been invented there! It’s easy to make:

Tequila Sunrise

1 & 1/2 ounces tequila

3/4 cup fresh orange juice

3/4 ounce grenadine syrup

Orange slice, for garnish

High-quality maraschino cherry, such as Luxardo,

In a highball glass filled with ice, pour the tequila and orange juice. Add grenadine by drizzling it down the inside of the glass. Let it settle to the bottom. Garnish with orange slice and maraschino cherries.

Here’s to hosting the best game day party in your neighborhood!
